German A1 – Start Your Language Journey

Your First Steps in German at GLS

Level A1 is designed for absolute beginners. You will learn the necessary basics to understand and use simple everyday expressions: greeting, introducing yourself, talking about your family and immediate needs.

Our teachers guide you step by step through interactive activities to help you speak with confidence from the first days.

A Clear and Structured Program

Natural Progression for Beginners

Level A1 includes 18 intensive lessons per week, Monday to Friday. After approximately 5 weeks, learners are ready for the A1 exam.

The course uses the textbook Netzwerk Neu A1, ideal for starting to read, write and speak German.

Speak German From the First Week

Starting from level A1, you learn to have simple conversations, ask questions, understand common sentences and interact in everyday situations through practical dialogues.

What You Learn at Level A1

According to the European Framework (CEFR), A1 learners can understand and use very frequent expressions related to concrete needs.

Level A1 consists of A1.1 and A1.2 for smooth progression.
